Our S2 Year Group visited Columba 1400 on Skye recently. Two groups visited the organisation’s centre at Staffin with the first spending a week in mid November and the second a week at the start of December. Each group was accompanied by three Castlebrae staff who were also part of the programme, aimed at exploring core values and developing Leadership.
Feedback from the Programme was amazing, with all who took part experiencing a challenging and demanding range of activities which developed teamwork, confidence and self-esteem. Each person is encouraged to raise self-awareness of their own potential for positive improvement, both in their own lives and through working with others.
Our work with Columba 1400 will continue and our new Columbans have already been sharing their experiences with our Cluster Primary Schools and the Castlebrae Community. The group will now aim to build on these experiences and carry through their pledges into improving the life and work of the school. We hope to give other students a chance of experiencing this brilliant programme in the future.
