Community Help and Advice Initiative at Castlebrae

Community Help and Advice Initiative (CHAI) is now in Castlebrae.

This service operates within 14 schools in Edinburgh so far, and helps families access free, confidential and impartial advice on housing, finances and welfare rights – offering the convenience of working from your school. Home visits can be arranged when appropriate.

Every year, around £81 million worth of benefits are unclaimed in Edinburgh. CHAI aims to maximise  income, address any money problems and ultimately reduce the educational attainment gap between higher and lower income households.

Kirsteen Wishart, Advice Worker, is available to make appointments for families.  Appointments can be arranged either through the school office or by contacting Kirsteen directly on 0131 442 1009.
